The Yankton Baseball Association (YBA) is seeking a pool of qualified applicants to be the head YBA coach reporting to the YBA Director of Operations. Qualified applicants will be required to have a year round presence and coach spring and summer seasons. It is important for this position to be involved in all levels of the YBA program while holding the position of head coach for the high school varsity, in the spring, and the head Legion coach in the summer. The successful candidate will organize and promote off season & in season skill development programs. Applicants must possess strong skills and aptitude in the following areas: leadership, team building, communication, knowledge of and experience in the game of baseball, and the ability to teach and instruct baseball fundamentals to all players in the program. Applicants must also demonstrate the ability to earn the trust and respect of the YBA Board, its players, and parents. The ultimate goal of this position is to instill life skills and life lessons in the program's players while building a program focused on being competitive. The applicant will be expected to attend monthly board meetings as well as state and region meetings as scheduled. Minimum base salary is $10,000 with the opportunity for additional pay based on experience and qualifications.
